Ok, so maybe I should have waited until I stepped out of my room to comment on how the rains clean the entire country....
We ventured into the Serrekunda market today and ... well perhaps the proper term isn't ventured, but waded.... while the rains do help to clean the air and wash away the dust and dirt that has accumulated, they also turn the roads, especially the dirt ones into miniature, treacherous lakes.
While trying to navigate the market; avoiding stalls, wheelbarrows, livestock and other people, we also had to try to avoid stepping into these lakes that have sprung up overnight in the middle of the busy pathways throughout the market.
We managed fine, but it was just one more of the experiences to mark down as memorable.
We start work with GamMol in Sanyang tomorrow. If we can figure out how to get there (3 bush taxis later), it should be a great time!
